Remote
Full Time
Drone Assessment Response Team
Manager/Supervisor

Empowering responders with aerial intelligence when it matters most.

Job Summary:
Alluvionic, in partnership with NMIMT and FEMA through the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC), is seeking knowledgeable and passionate SME/Instructors to join their team in delivering cutting-edge training for first responders and emergency management personnel nationwide. This initiative centers on the Drone Assessment and Response Tactics (DART) program, which equips emergency personnel with the knowledge and practical skills to address Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) threats. Participants will explore UAS-related criminal and terrorist activities, learn detection and tracking methods, and develop strategies for effective response and reporting. Through a blend of classroom instruction, hands-on exercises, and field demonstrations, the course introduces participants to UAS capabilities, operational risks, and simulated scenarios, including Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

The DART training is offered in two formats: a comprehensive 3-day resident course at NMIMT’s Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (EMRTC) in Socorro, New Mexico, which includes both classroom instruction and hands-on field training with live explosive demonstrations; and a condensed, mobile 1-day course at local, state, and tribal emergency responder unit locations.

*This position support by Independent Contractors only*
*Travel is required supporting resident and mobile course offering*

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of high-quality resident and mobile DART training courseware designed to raise awareness of UAS threats, including legal considerations and counter-drone technology.
  • Guide participants through detection strategies, identification methods, threat assessment, and practical response techniques, ensuring they are prepared for real-world scenarios.
  • Conduct research to support course content, provide authoritative references, and identify resources relevant to DART training, including threat mitigation and counter technologies and strategies.
  • Review course materials to confirm accuracy, technical relevance, and alignment with current UAS operational practices, US laws and regulations, and authoritative agencies and organizations such as the Department of War (DOW), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
  • Contribute to drafting, reviewing, and refining lesson topics, learning objectives, and instructional materials for both new course versions and re-certifications to meet NMIMT and FEMA National Training and Education Division (NTED) Standards and requirements
  • Participate in course pilot (draft) deliveries, provide instructional support as directed, and address pilot feedback from participants, FEMA/NTED, other stakeholders, and NMIMT Curriculum Manager.
  • Work closely with NMIMT curriculum developers, instructional designers, and program staff to ensure course content is instructionally sound and operationally accurate in accordance with NMIMT and FEMA/NTED requirements.
  • Incorporate instructional design feedback, as directed by the NMIMT Curriculum Manager, into course materials and activities. This includes updating instructor-led lectures, classroom exercises, field exercises, and other course components to ensure accuracy, instructional effectiveness, and compliance with FEMA/NTED standards
  • Provide technical input on specialized topics within the SME’s area of expertise, including UAS functions, components, trends, associated laws and regulations, when consulted by NMIMT.
  • Support NMIMT by collecting, analyzing, and documenting data relevant to UAS training content. Activities may include assisting with formal needs assessments, evaluating pilot course (draft) delivery feedback, and contributing to after-action reviews.
  • Maintain and comply with FAA Part 107 and NMIMT Instructor Certification Program requirements throughout the duration of assignment.
Qualifications:
  • Possess substantial subject matter expertise in Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) assessment, tactics, response operations, and counter-UAS detection equipment
  • Law Enforcement and/or Military knowledge and experience teaching explosive hazards and terrorist threat subject matter
  • Remote Pilot Certificate with a small UAS rating, under FAA Part 107, preferred
  • Minimum 1-year of Law Enforcement and/or Military operational drone flight experience, preferred
  • Possess a high degree of organization and verbal and written communication skills and technical software skills

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
