Environmental Health & Safety Analyst (OSHA)
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Clearance Required: Must undergo a Public Trust Background Investigation (BI)
This is an ON-SITE Position
Salary Range: $55-60k
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Assistant Chief with USMS Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (asbestos, noise, lead, bloodborne pathogens (BBP), OSHA record keeping, hazard communication (HACOM), internal inspections, materials handling, indoor air quality (IAQ)/mold, OSHA compliance inspections, respiratory protection, indoor air quality, hazardous/non-haz waste, green energy, greenhouse gas, green purchasing, etc.)
- Provide safety and health technical information to USMS Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, District/Division Collateral Duty Safety Offices (CDSO), project managers, and external stakeholders, such as GSA project managers and the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AOUSC).
- Work with the USMS warehouse, mailroom, and other stakeholders to provide equipment.
- Assist the EOSH program with policy and SOP rewrites, recording, and data correlation.
- Take meeting minutes and assist in the field with data collection, assessments, inspections, and environmental reporting.
- Assist with the employee compensation and management portal (ECOMP), occupational injury and illness data, and OSHA 300/300A collection.
- Assist with Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) data collection and reporting, data collection for office self-inspections, and fit testing.
- Research standards, equipment, and processes to assist with developing economically feasible measures for controlling or eliminating actual or potential hazards to USMS employees.
- Assist with safety education activities, promote safety awareness through safety committees and safety stand-down days, provide safety training sessions and briefings using PowerPoint, and prepare safety literature and promotional materials.
- Assist the USMS with a national Automated External Defibrillator and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Program (AED/CPR), including coordinating training, maintaining records, coordinating and correlating data from multiple sources, generating reports, sending records to internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining equipment accountability.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree: Major study -- safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene), or degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study from among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.
- OSHA Level 10 certification is required. (OSHA Level 30 certification preferred)
- Automated External Defibrillator and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Program (AED/CPR) certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Government experience
- 10 PTO days, plus 5 additional days on your 10th hire anniversary
