Adjudicator – Personnel Security
Job Summary:
Alluvionic is seeking an Adjudicator who will support the Security and Emergency Management Staff (SEMS) within the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA). This position is responsible for the adjudication of background investigations related to suitability, public trust, and national security clearances for staff across all 94 U.S. Attorneys’ Offices. The incumbent will apply federal adjudicative guidelines and ensure personnel security decisions comply with applicable policies and standards.

Responsibilities:
Review and adjudicate personnel security background investigations in accordance with Executive Orders 12968 and 13467, SEADs, and other applicable directives.
Analyze case materials and investigative reports to determine eligibility for access to sensitive and classified information.
Prepare written adjudication summaries and recommendation memoranda documenting findings and rationale.
Ensure cases are processed in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining compliance with federal adjudicative standards and timelines.
Use systems such as e-QIP, DISS/JPAS, CVS, and Scattered Castles to manage and track adjudication cases.
Collaborate with investigators, EOUSA security officials, and other federal agencies to resolve complex or incomplete cases.
Maintain proper documentation, data entry, and security file management in accordance with federal records policies.
Assist with internal quality reviews, audits, and security policy updates as needed.
- Support the EOUSA SEMS mission of protecting personnel, facilities, and information assets through sound adjudicative practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant adjudication experience
OR
At least 8 years of relevant adjudication experience with no degree.A minimum of 2 years’ experience adjudicating personnel security cases for the U.S. Government, including national security and public trust investigations.
Strong knowledge of federal personnel security and adjudication policies, procedures, and investigative standards.
Proficiency in using government systems such as e-QIP, DISS/JPAS, and CVS.
Excellent written communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting the Department of Justice, EOUSA, or other federal law enforcement or legal organizations.
Familiarity with continuous evaluation, reciprocity determinations, and insider threat considerations.
Completion of adjudicator training from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) or Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE).
- Knowledge of HSPD-12 or personnel security policy development.
